Overview

We are seeking a Culinary Director for Catholic Eldercare's Assisted Living facilities! The Culinary Director is responsible for overseeing the dining department at our Assisted Living community, including supervising the employees and ensuring meals are prepared according to regulations and resident preferences. This position assists with menu development and ordering for the community, as well as being a back up for the cook as neeeded.

 

Schedule: This is a full time, exempt, Monday-Friday position. This position works general business hours based on the needs of the department. This position works on site at our location in NE Minneapolis.

Catholic Eldercare is a community of residential facilities in Northeast Minneapolis offering services in assisted living, independent living, skilled nursing, memory care, transitional care, and adult day services.

Responsibilities

  • Hires and supervises dining staff, ensuring they are properly trained, giving ongoing performance feedback and conducting performance reviews, and promotes positive working relationships amongst employees and departments
  • Assists with planning and developing menus for upcoming weeks
  • Manages inventory and food/supplies budget and storage area
  • Assists with special events or activities at the community as it relates to food service
  • Prepares and/or oversees food preparation ensuring that proper sanitation and food handling techniques are used
  • Makes substitutions and revisions to accommodate dietary needs of tenants /residents
  • Ensures that kitchen and storage areas are clean and orderly

Qualifications

  • ServSafe Certified
  • Food Manager Certificate Required
  • Previous experience in Senior Care preferred
  • Knowledge of city, state and federal guidelines as it relates to Food & Nutrition Services 
  • Solid leadership, personnel management, organization, communication and interpersonal skills required
  • 2-5 years previous experience preferred
