Overview

Catholic Eldercare is seeking a Cook/Supervisor for our Long Term Care facility. 
 
This is a full-time position scheduled for 80 hours in a 2 week pay period. 
  • Mon 10:30am to 7pm
  • Tues 10:00am to 7:30pm
  • Wed 10am to 6:30om
  • Fri 10am to 6:30pm
  • Every other weekend 10:00am to 6:30pm

Catholic Eldercare is a community of residential facilities in Northeast Minneapolis offering services in assisted living, independent living, skilled nursing, memory care, transitional care, and adult day services.

Responsibilities

The Cook:
  • Is a key team member of our Dietary Team.   
  • Answers and reports directly to Executive Chef in addition to Director.
  • Preps according to production sheets and provides general kitchen support.
  • Supervises dining staff and works with other cooks on staff in preparation of meals as assigned.
  • Performs all duties in a manner that is consistent with quality standards, infection control practices and safety measures established by the nursing home, which includes using Standard Precautions.

Qualifications

  • Three (3) years culinary experience required. Preferred commissary or institutional kitchen experience.
  • One (1) or more years experience in a Supervisor role. 
  • Culinary degree preferred.
  • Must have professional understanding of all federal, state and local food service regulations pursuant to Food Manager Sanitation Certification.
  • Must have and maintain Food Manager Sanitation Certification.
  • Attend to creative, exciting food and production skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team to maintain operations of Dining Services department.
  • Ability to meet physical demands of position including visual and auditory acuity, including lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, sitting, and standing. 
  • Ability to work with colleagues and residents from diverse backgrounds.
